Charity of Alderman Steevens

Providing affordable accommodation for those in need

Since our founding in 1679, the Charity of Alderman Steevens has been providing much needed affordable accommodation to the residents of Bristol. Building on centuries of heritage, and with demand as strong as it's ever been, we're committed to providing as many people as possible with access to a safe and warm property they can call home, living independently, and with dignity.

A message from our Chair

"I'm delighted to welcome you to the website of the Charity of Alderman Steevens. Having been involved with Alderman Steevens since 2022, I was privileged to take on the Chairmanship in early 2024.

Passionate about the work we do, routed in our rich heritage, it's great to be able to tell our story, how we've helped the people of Bristol through the centuries, and share our exciting plans for the future.

Please look around the site, learn about the charity and don't hesitate to contact us if you think there is someone we might be able to help, or if you would like to get involved and support our work"
